Tick Lag on Minecraft
My Minecraft is having tick lag, even when it's only using 20% of my cpu and 8% (40% in the picture because of no extra memory) of my memory. What is happening? I have given Minecraft extra memory and raised its priority, but its still having tick lag...

display_update is taking a long time. (Much longer than usual.)
Usually gameRender takes the longest.
Is your 'Max Framerate' set to unlimited? Also check for VSync.

VSync is set off, and my max framerate is 120

Don't limit your framerate.

Did you get optifine ultra? If you did, there should be an option to enable Multicore rendering in the main video options screen.

I used Optifine - but it did NOT seem to help! Is there a way to enable its function to use multiple cores?

Is this SP or MP? Is there any heavy redstone going on in the background? Is vsync enabled?

I believe vsync is enabled - SP
There is heavy redstone going on. But the redstone isn't using my computer's full processing power, even when I try to bump up Minecraft's priority.

Ah, OK. I think I see the problem. If they haven't changed it, Minecraft suffers from a serious case of single threadedness. Since your processor has 6 cores, the 20% CPU usage is from background things and then ~16% for minecraft. Try optifine, it should let is use more cores.

Okay - I'll check out Optifine

I don't know what opis is :/

opis is a mod that tells you whats going on with the server or client depending on what your playing on and it can get rid of bad things that do cause lag
