When I downloaded my new Minecraft launcher I look under Version and it says ??? (Latest Version). Plz help me because I want to play Minecraft again!!

Try updating your java, i believe minecraft doesnt use java5 anymore and may be your issue

The old launcher? Because you can't do that with the new one.
Have you tried force updating?
Well it's been like this for quite a while and I opened and closed it. I also reinstalled it. But nothing has worked. But I kept my old launcher to install a mod if that might help.
Harry, Try and close minecraft and reopen it again that might fix it tell me how it goes
