Versions of mods!!!!
ok...... so i have a mods folder and forge and all that stuff. I want to know if i can play a lower version the 1.6.4 for my mods..... If you dont get that then here is another example: My version of forge is 1.6.4 and i want to download a mod that is 1.5.2 will the mod work on that forge version or no?? i have tried and it hasnt worked but i dont know if it is just me doing it wrong, or its versions are different.

ok. yah i have checked out the flans mod it is cool. i guess i will think about it
It will work for very few and very minor versions for example 1.7.9 - 1.7.10 I think have cross compatible mods. But for bigger releases no because mojang changes the obfuscation table and the mods have to be reobfuscated.
And also there's code changes that mojang does that might break the mods even when the obfuscation is the same.

flans is one i know about, but the cars in it are kind of buggy (it really depends on what content pack you are using, though. some of them work really well) it also adds a whole bunch of other things like airplanes, tanks, guns and mechs and everything is in different content packs that are to be downloaded seperately.

not at all. mods from different versions that have few differences (like 1.7.2 and 1.7.10) sometimes work on the other version, but keep in mind minecraft changed a lot more from 1.5.2 to 1.6.4.
it will not work if its not the correct version
