Radeon R9 270x Issues
A few months ago, I bought the Radeon R9 270x graphics card, aswell as a 700 watt supply, since I am upgrading my computer to a gaming computer.
However, I think I should be having more than 20 as I Definitely, had 20 more fps, with my old Graphics card (can't remember, may link later)
Having a terrible time finding out how to increase my fps
Please give me some feedback
Radeon : http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/desktop/r9
My Mods : http://gyazo.com/42e88c8f7c4b6ebcce18b6c3e0df4a05
I use 1.6.4 aswell as Forge.
I definitely used these mods, before I bought my graphics card, and got higher fps.
I ran my antivirus 3 times yesterday and once today, didn't improve.
Any advice? would help alot!
I also run Windows 8.1
My Specifications are listed into this screenshot :gyazo.com/48fbd2f3e8869eeb5ce7beccbec8de47

Found out the main cause is the Pixelmon Mod, however, I enjoy the mod & run a server (24/7)
So either I get 0-10 fps, or I'll never be on.

Found out someone hacked & RATted me, reinstalling Operating System, do you think that may be the reason my gameplay was poor with FPS?

You're going to need a summer job, then.

Now, whether or not you like it, you're going to need a new motherboard as well as a new CPU. For a motherboard, a B85 like this one will support 4th Gen Intel CPUs, as well as allow Crossfire if you ever need it in the future. At about 44 pounds, it's a pretty good deal. For the CPU, until you can save up a good amount of cash (possibly you could save up enough to build your own PC, it'll require like 200 pounds less since you already have the graphics card on hand, and it seems from your specs you also have the recommended 8GB of RAM on hand - you could also salvage the case and, assuming you follow what I'm saying, you'll also have the motherboard on hand) you need a placeholder. Most people recommend the Intel Pentium G3220, which is about 34 pounds. This is head and shoulders above your current CPU, so you're going to be much better off with it for a year or two until you can save up enough money to get a nicer CPU. Once you have the motherboard, you'll basically only need to get a nice CPU and then you'll have a pretty good gaming computer. ASRock apparently has some technology that allows you to overclock easily with their B85 motherboards, but I don't have any idea how it works. Alternatively, you could also go for a z97 motherboard (56 pounds) and splurge just a little more, then you can go straight for a Broadwell CPU when it comes out next year.

TL;DR
Buy ~70-80 pounds worth of parts now, save up for a year, then splurge on a really nice 4th gen CPU.
OR
Buy ~80-90 pounds worth of parts now, save up for a year, then splurge on a really nice Broadwell CPU. Also easily overclockable.

EDIT: Ah, I found the UK PCPartPicker site. Excellent.

What I first recommended:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G3220 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor (£37.80 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock B85 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£64.83 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £102.63
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-06-17 23:39 BST+0100

If you want to upgrade to a Broadwell CPU later on:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G3220 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor (£37.80 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£69.40 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £107.20
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-06-17 23:37 BST+0100

So, basically, for £5 more, you get 5th Generation Intel CPU compatibility. I'd go with the second one.

Thank you for giving me shopping details & advice.
I'll try to save up for a year and see what I could do
Thanks all!

Here's an upgrade for you that should work great. Though, you may want to make sure your case can hold an ATX motherboard. Most do, but you don't want to end up accidentally buying an ATX motherboard for a microATX case.

Although I don't suggest it, you could always downgrade the CPU. But, if you want this configuration to last as long as your current one, I'd save up and get this or something better, like an i7.

TWSSYesterdaySimple fix: Intel
You're using AMD which has less single threaded performance than most intel processors. Minecraft is single threaded so AMD isn't the way to go, it's a CPU issue, not a GPU issue.

Damnit, I just bought this graphics card for £132 aswell ;-;

AMD GPU's are completely different from CPU's. You could have an Intel or an AMD CPU and still run the AMD GPU, you just need to make sure the motherboard supports it. AMD is going to generally have better price-performance ratios than nVidia as well, so you're good there. Plus, you can Crossfire with your 270x in the future so that's also nice.

Firework4lj
It might be better to just save up some money and buy a new board and cpu. you can get some low cost motherboards around $40-$70 that do just fine. Then you can also figure out if you want to go amd or intel. with a new board you can get an intel processor or an amd, and amd is the way to go if you dont have much money to spend. ive got an amd fx-4350 quad core at 4.2 ghz and it was only $130ish, but if you want more performance then that you can go for an i5 or if you have more money an i7 which will drop you about $200ish to $300ish for an if and $300 to over $1000 for an i7.
But im not super good with knowing all the different cpus and stuff. But if it where me, and i had some money, i would buy a new board that supports my current hardware and you could get some new cooler features like 6gb per second sata connectors, usb 3.0 connectors, etc.

What he said. You're only going to need an i5, and if you want to have a gaming build you could always overclock it. Your motherboard is definitely in need of replacing, as CPUs that are going to be good for gaming are generally going to need z87 or z97 chips (Intel) or AM3/AM3+ or FM2/FM2+ (AMD).
Depending on the size of your current computer (I'm going to assume an ATX mid tower), you're going to want a motherboard that has Crossfire, you may want to go with something like this (AMD) or this.

Processor-wise, if you want Intel you're better off going with an i5 4690k (when it comes out later this month) if you can splurge a little on it (it costs 140 pounds). If you can't, or want to use AMD, generally people go with the AMD FX-8350 (103 pounds) or the AMD FX-6300 (64 pounds). I'm converting these directly from the US PCPartPicker website, so I don't know what exact prices will be because of shipping or whatever, but expect them to be around there.

You say that when the Pixelmon mod is installed, your game's performance suffers.

Try running Pixelmon, and only Pixelmon, and see if the problem persists. If performance returns to normal, then another mod is probably conflicting with Pixelmon, causing performance issues. If the problem does persist, though, try updating Pixelmon to the latest version.

It also wouldn't hurt to update your graphics card driver as others have said.

EDIT: That CPU is 6 years old, so it may be having issues running that many mods at once. Minecraft is more intense on the CPU than GPU, and running lots of mods at once is not helping.

1.6.4 (Without forge) I get 150+ FPS,
With just pixelmon only aswell as forge, I get up to 40.
To be honest, Pixelmon seems to be the problem.

Then Pixelmon must be a little too much for your 2008 CPU to handle. I suggest upgrading your CPU (which will require a motherboard and RAM upgrade) if you want better performance.

Side note: I have a GTX 660, which is similar performance-wise to the R9 290X, and I easily get over 300 FPS in vanilla or modded Minecraft. Your CPU is being a serious bottleneck.

If you wouldn't mind, I could price up an upgrade to your system. Just tell me your budget and your PSU's wattage, and I can draw up a potential upgrade choice.
