Vps?

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. Basically it means, it acts as if it's its own standalone server, giving you access to root folders and other folders so that you can install applications that require root access.

The difference between this and a shared hosting package for example, would be that most shared packages don't give you root access and you can't run things like Minecraft unless there is a specific add-on provided by the host.
