What types of projects do you people usually enjoy. I want to build a project, but i have no inspiration.

With the new update, redstone is practically something of the past. You use command blocks to do everything now, and it's understandable why. The newer updates make creating an adventure map a breeze if you know the commands and how to build.
I personally like building mini game maps and adventure maps. I like the architecture and stuff, but I really enjoy tinkering with commands, lately I've been messing with /tellraw and /scoreboard.
/tellraw is raw JSON script. You can do a simple one with /tellraw [target] "[text]" or a complex one with /tellraw [target] {text:"[text]"}. The most complicated one I've done so far is as follows.
/tellraw @a {text:"Click to accept",color:red,hoverEvent:{action:show_text,value:"Make sure you read the rules!"},clickEvent:{action:run_command,value:"/tp @a ~ ~5 ~"}}
I love doing em, I love learning commands too. Probably why I love learning Python too.

I think adventure maps are very very hard to get good.
You would need a team of people (storyline, redstoners, and builders) to create a highly polished one that people would like.
I recommend just building something cool.
Baroque palaces are always a good place to start; they are not hard to build and look pretty impressive when completed. (For examples of what I am talking about, there are a 2 baroque buildings on my profile, or check out Kenofox's builds (he's a former Gazamo member, so he knows what he's doin))

If I were to do an adventure map build, would I need such programs as VoxelSniper, WorldEdit, etc?
I like things that integrate a little of everything.. I mean, sure it is nice to look at a build, but I would download a map with an adventure plot, good building, parkour, all those combined.
Want specifics? Think medieval. You can get real creative with the age of knights and castles.
