What Type of Server gets the Most Traffic?

I'm looking into setting up a server but I have no clue as to what gamemode I would like to host on it. I would like to do a SMP server based off of land claims and a player based economy but I don't know how sufficient that would be. I wouldn't mind running a factions server or a sky block server but I fear that my superior competitors would take most of the players due to them having custom features or a better community than mine. Please leave your opinion here, I would like to know what server type tends to get the most traffic or if I should even start a server due to competitors.

Minigame servers usually get most of the traffic, because they have lots of options. Unfortunately, they take LOTS of time to setup and make, since they have lots of different things.

Typically a server with loads of highways tends to get most traffic.
