What was the exploit thing that pmc is going about called. I just updated and want to make sure it wont mess up my server. Is it a client or what.

It is a server side authentication exploit, once you have updated your server to a "fixed" version you should be fine.
If you want to protect your server from future exploits, you can use sk89q's method of "host keys." This prevents session stealers, hacked accounts, etc.
