im in the process of setting up a new server and i was wondering what do you guys look for /want in a server
eg. multiple worlds with SG and creative or a roleplay server

I would love a server with a world for a TON of minigames and players on the server can also contribute to it.
I have played minecraft since early beta, and have been on dozens and dozens of servers.
here is my guide to making a good server.
1: first of all, DO NOT give donators admin/mod style ranks. you shouldnt get to pay to ban people. or kick. or generally be some random person who bosses people around because they threw their money at the server. (no offense donators!) only give donators things like more /sethomes, /feed, like 5 daily diamonds, things like that.
2: Multiverse. my friends server i helped make has multiple worlds. it has an optional pvp world, a plot world (absolute essential, these are great for when there are few people on the server.), we are even making a small roleplay world, and a survival world.
3: tolerant admins. I cant tell you number of times a saw a 9 year old do something stupid and the 23 year old admin freaked out and banned him and all his friends. your staff needs to be as kind as possible and extremely helpful. I have felt left out on many servers, and only because people refused to help me with commands, or tell me how to get to certain places.
4: wow. 4 already? anyway, you should have great plugins. chest shop, factions, /sethome, things like that. you dont want hard plugin like /set home x245 y67 z495 blah blah blah. you need easy commands.
5: keep advertising and changing the server constantly to keep people on. alot of people dont join the server with 2 people on the list, they will choose the one with 10 people.
most of all, dont let people tell you how to run your server. trust your instinct. you make the server the way you want it, not the way other people do.
I hope your server is a sucsess and I will be checking it out soon.

If I was you I would do one creative world, one survival world with no pvp and then maybe a pvp and faction world. Also maybe a minigame would be cool.

A server with 2 portals; one for non-grief survival and another for the bloodthirsty brutes who prefer PvP, factions and grief/raiding.

Creative servers get boring after awhile and they don't last long (Reasons like lack of funds or the person running the server goes on a powertrip since they're a little kid)
I tend to go for survival servers without PvP or Grief, make friends and have fun like my server ^_^ Rawrs

A good creative server would be nice. Honestly though, there are too many Survival Games, Pvp, and faction servers. Try to stray away from those.
im thinking a multiverse server 1 survival and one creative ?
I like small survival servers with nice staff and a good shop.
