What makes a PERFECT server?
I wanted to know what features, plugins, gamemodes, and whatever else you like in a server. What makes a server fun and enjoyable? What do you like in your favorite server that makes it that way? What's that little special something that gets you hooked on a server? What types of servers do you like? Factions? PvP? RPG? Hunger Games? Prison? What do you want in a server? In a perfect world, what would a perfect server be?

Most of those things are about preference, so you really can't have a "best gamemode", or "lots of plugins".
But here's what I would think:
Plugins that help enhance what type of gamemode thing that your server is aiming for.
Helpful/friendly staff
Detailed Spawn, but easy to navigate.
Connection

For those of you joining my server saying I don't have custom plugins and calling me a fool on my own server is just plain straight disrespect. My server is under construction, I am only letting people join just to see how the server is going to be. Gingerswan and Darthmineboy grow up. If you wanna argue get back on my server and i'll be happy to make a fool out of yourself.
There is no such thing as a "perfect server" but here are some things that can make a server great.
-Dedicated staff
-Fun but serious owner
-Multiple worlds (i.e. faction, creative, survival, free-build)
-Good plugins
-Something to help with getting rid of spammers/hackers
-Little to no world resets
And finally
-Instead of offering players thousands of items for voting ONCE offer them something like an increasing system that will test their loyalty. I.e. log-gold ingot-stone-iron ore-2 iron ingots-iron gear piece-diamond-diamond gear piece; or something along those lines.

Well here are some things that make the perfect server.
They are simple and easy to grasp for young ones out there.
1) Make a good community! If you have a small server make sure everyone feels welcome so they can tell their friends.
2) Have active staff, who actually do their jobs.
3) Do not ban spammers/hackers. Simply mute 5 mins for spam, and get an anti cheat plugin.
4) Variety! Kids love being on a server where you will never find everything out about the server!

Get a server with a nice hub. A survival world, PvP/Factions world, a creative world (No plots please!), a VIP world and a Redstone world. Please make me a mod/admin BTW.

- Staff that will not troll or abuse there power
- A strict but fun owner
My favorite server is my own, only because I constructed it with all custom stuff. I made the map, I made the classes, I have friends who coded custom plugins for me. The hook of a good server to me is how organized it is, and how mature the staff are. If you have a staff member who cannot hold there anger in and just ban people, or a staff member who just trolls, he is not the one and he is ruining your server. Your staff make up the server and how it runs, if people see that they are a bunch of trolls, they will just leave. The most popular servers now a days are either PVP related stuff or have a RPG style to it. What I look in a server is maturity and organization, that's what makes up the server. A server in my opinion should not take 2-5 hours to make, it should take days to make so you can add and configure the server to be better than the others. A server that is well put together, is one that will stand. A server that is rushed, is one that will fall.
*PS: the guy above me asking for staff, is a joke. If you want staff they should play on your server and show that they qualify to be a staff member and not just ask for it.
