When i click on minecraft nothing happens

Maybe try reinstalling Java? Also save your worlds and texture packs, then delete the whole .minecraft folder and redownload.

Windows 8 is great, just at first glance it's confusing. But what serachndstroy said redownload the launcher of the official site minecraft.net.

Wait technically this happens if you run an .exe meaning that you're not actually playing on minecraft premium but a cracked version, am I wrong? If not then try opening it in the downloads folder, it's a windows 8 bug making that the first folder where an app was installed is the only place where it can be opened

Is it in the downloads folder? Try right click and run as administrator

In the Task Manager Minecraft is labeled as javaw*32, so just search for that then click "End Process". If that doesn't work, delete .minecraft and re-install Java and then try again.

Windows 8 is actually very good.

First of all windows 8 runs faster and is mainly used for it's touch screen and apple is really good for video editing. I personally used a windows 7 Custom Built Desktop.
Anyways you should restart your computer or open the task manager, find minecraft and end the process.
