Hey guys! So, I run a vanilla 1.8 whitelisted server, and I seem to be having problems. I cannot whitelist people from the console or in-game, which seems to be a common problem. So, I have to whitelist people through the ftp file. I've tried several times but it will not work! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to whitelist people throught the ftp file? I sorta understand, but it's not working!

problems with uuids... you have to do /whitelist off, let them join the server do /whitelist on, do /whitelist add <player name>, They must be online when you whitelist
Restart the server and try whitelisting then. Make sure not to start commands with slashes.

Why cant you do it ingame?
It doesn't let me. I don't know why. So FTP is my only option.
