Why cant i run my server after 1.5 update

everything seems to still be correctly set port forward wise like it was during the previous updates but whenever i start the server it just says timed out.. cant even run local host.
this started happening after i updated with the 1.5 dev build craftbukkit.

is anyone else having similar issues?

is there something i am not doing right? please tell me if i left some helpful information out.
