I've recently made a bee house on Minecraft Java. I set up everything and got the two boxes inside filled with bees, they've made honey, but eventually they disappear. Every single time i've put bees in here they are gone soon after, even the named ones, i cannot figure out what is happening. There's no way for them to escape, they also cant pop out of the bottom or back of the hive to suffocate (theres a trap door under the hives), nothing for them to get stuck on and die as i can see either. Anyone know of a fix for this or what could be happening to my bees?

that's a nice dome ngl
Thank you!
Maybe because there is water? Bees die in water I think.
It's part of their behaviour to avoid water so I doubt so
mob ai go brrr
anonpmc3729066Trazlynn Just finished with my datapack that should hopefully stop the bug. As of right now it just supports bee mobs, not the bees inside the hive (as thatll probably be a big pain). If it goes towards 1.18 and its still not fixed, ill try to get the hive part out

This is a bug with 1.17. Should hopefully be fixed soon or in 1.18.
In the meantime Im going to make a datapack that should "prevent this" (spawns bees back in its place when its gone)

Oh my gosh, thank you. I never knew about the bug. I’ll 100% be using that when you release it!
