Why doesn't my server get or retian player :l
Hi,
Im sure if your reading this your thinking i have a 1 week or 2 week old server, i don't i have one thats been up for 6 months, my problem is I'm unable to get or retina players. They join and just want mod, my player counts are either 1 2 or 3. Its so hard, I'm just wondering why. I have multiple game modes, factions survival creative, and other things but no one wants to stay. Im just so confused on what to do, can anyone help me. ;l.

You need to definitely give your selling points to players when they join. Ask them if they need anything. Giving new players much attention gets some to stay. Also, I just started a paid advertisement on MineChat. $25 for 1 month, I have a new player come just to check it out. All they can do is talk on the server, but if they like to talk to you. They will join on their PC. I have maybe 1-2 new players stay a day. Definitely helps with the paid advertisement. Also, I make the website for the server fun to be on. Server feels like a group of friends. Not just a bunch of random people joining.

You to think to yourself, why would anyone pick your server over the other hundreds of thousands out there, what makes your server unique? If your struggling to find an answer to this question, then you need to find a something unique to make your server stand out.
Then once you have something unique to offer the community you need to sell your server to players before they even play it. Focus on the unique features you offer and present yourself how you want to be perceived. If you have the cash then buying some awesome graphics is a great way to put your server above the cut.
Once you have a successful idea and some snazzy graphics or banner to represent yourself, hit the voting sites, the forums, and youtube, and hit them hard. Get people taking, get involved in the different communities and then send people your server IP when they ask for it, never spam or try to push your server onto people, it will only ever push them further away.
