Why is my launcher doing this to me?

Yesterday Minecraft 1.7.2 just worked fine, but today when I clicked play it came with a crash report that says: Game ended with bad state (exit code 1)
Ignoring visibility rule and showing launcher due to game crash! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TODAY? PLS HELP!!!
