Why won't my optifine work?
So I've had optifine for awhile now. I opened up my Minecraft Launcher and next to the installation is a triangle with an ! in the middle. When I try to create a new installation with optifine, it wont work. I play on windows 10 if that helps.

In the Installations tab there are check-boxes and there is one as Modded which is probably unchecked
The ! marker is part of a launcher update. Basically, newer versions (1.16.4+) include a new menu that allows you to block players, making them not appear on your screen and disabling their chat messages. Microsoft will likely be able to perma-ban players from servers (that opt-in to the banlist) or realms once the transition to Microsoft accounts is complete as well. To encourage players to stay on versions they can control easier and to protect small children and special snowflakes, the launcher puts a warning message on any older version that does not have these features or modded version that might disable them. This is really annoying to anyone who does not need these features or is used to playing older versions that do not include them.
You can just select the version anyway and start the game. The ! just means it will display a popup message for you to skip.
