Will copper ores spawn in already loaded chunks?
So I've played and explored a lot on a 1.16 world, but I updated it to 1.17. When I updated it from 1.15 to 1.16, the already existing chunks were not affected- the new nether biomes only spawned in unloaded chunks. Does the same concept apply with copper ore, and the deep dark? Will I have to venture out to unloaded chunks to find copper ore, or will they spawn in already loaded chunks?

Yes it does otherwise block corruption and structure replacement can occur.
You dont want an amethyst geode lodged in your underground zombie farm do you?

you have to, and here is a simple way to see if it will or not for later updates:
if generations or structures are added, they will need a new chunk to load, since if those spawn in loaded chunks, imagine some amethyst cave thing that just spawns in your house and can't get the lost blocks back
if unlucky, if you have a mine with a chest, a copper might spawn there and RUIN YOUR LIFE!
if its like mobs, i guess they could spawn.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeees ,
nobody wants the new ore texture of anoter ores too

You will have to venture far to find unloaded chunks. New updated blocks don't generate in pre existing chunks, you will have to find unloaded chunks to find, deepslate, copper, and geodes.
