World spawn won't change
I've been trying to chang my spawn on my 1.18.1 server, but nothing works.
I've used /setworldspawn by it self, I've used /setworldspawn with the coordinates, I've also used /setworldspawn with the ~ before x, y, and z. No matter what i do spawn is several hundred blocks away in a cave spawning players in a wall where they suffocate to death.
How can I change this?

You could also try with a World edit program such as this one : https://www.amuletmc.com/
With this, you can edit your world, and edit spawn locatinons within a world. Takes a little getting to know though.

Well I got amutet to work, but according to them on their discord, it can't set spawn. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to use another seed.
Hmmmmmm ........ I thought it did, well, if you are willing to try a forge mod, you could try this to set your world spawn location :

I'd be willing to try anything at this point so I downloaded amulet. I ran the exe and it throw a bunch of warnings then did nothing. Never installed. I'm pretty sure the game hates me. This on top of several plugins for 1.18 that won't work. I'm pretty sure 1.18.1 still has a $#!t ton of bugs to work out. Again, thank you for trying to help. I do appreciate it.
I just had my son join for the first time after seting the spawn several times and he spawned in the same place as everyone else. Down in a cave suffocating to death. I broke the only bed I slept in so I should respawn at world spawn, and I do, in a cave suffocating to death. Whether they're joining for the fist time or not, it's the same to matter what I do. I do appreciate you trying to help though.
/setworldspawn sets the worldspawn only for new players joining the server.
Otherwise your spawn is dictated by /spawnpoint or with beds
To reset your custom spawnpoint to the default worldspawn, place a bed down, right click it to set spawn and then break it.
