Do you like roleplay servers?

was you build it message me and ill join you i like roleplays but i havent found a decent one yet i could be a bad guy as well as good

Well ehm, do not wish to hijack this thread but I am trying to promote the only big-scale actual RP server I know. Not just a bunch of plugins.

RPG servers are amazing. But you have to enforce people to stay in character in such instead of having the usual gaming chat like "lol i just pwnd u!"

So keep that to the very minimum, you need good admins to check around to see what people are doing so you don't have people going off into the wilderness and building by themselves. It just ruins the feel of the RPG aspects.

Give everyone a role or job. Like a baker, miner, guard or whatever. Guards will walk round checking on people making sure no ones stealing. But with the stealing make it allowed in the rules, but in the MC world it's like illegal which will make it have a good feel. I don't if you have played any of the Elder Scrolls like Oblivion but you should have different cities and settlements. You should definitely have a main city and a King or Emperor which would logically be you.

Have a group of builders to make the map and towns. you could have a builder in each town with different build styles so each towns has a unique feel to it. Also have all the houses kinda the same and good looking, you don't want a nice little estate of houses then a mud hut right next to it.

Also get the server plugin iConomy which will let you trade coins with other players, there is another plugin I have heard of which only lets you speak to you within a 100 block radius of your self which would be good for a realistic feeling RPG server.

Having people make up little friendly quests for one another is good to. Say if someone had a garden then they pretended the grass had grown tall and ask someone else to cut it in exchange for 5 coins.

DON'T ALLOW ANY PIXEL ART AT ALL!

Umm, what else? Oh yeah in each town have it so there must be a townhall, which they have meetings where people can put forward ideas and such. Have a mayor in each town who lives in a slightly larger house than other people.

The King of the whole kingdom (server) should have a big castle where he has loyal guards to protect him. People can arrange meetings to see the king and talk about struggles in the kingdom and all that stuff.

Make sure you have a decent sized amount of slots aswell, somewhere over 30 maybe to add more of a feel. I'm not sure how many your computer can handle but the more the better the RP experience.

Recently have been thinking hard about actually making one... but I was going to theme it as RPG based on the PlayStation2 game series "Jak." n the second one there is a place named Haven City which woul be interesting to build in Minecraft, I think it's completely possible. Yeah, I love ropeplay servers it's like living in a little community
