when i download a skin, where does it go?

What kind of device you have?
It should show up in your computer's downloads folder, named something like skinname-on-planetminecraft-com.png. It should also show up at the bottom of the browser window, depending on which browser you use. There may also be a downloads button in the top right menu of the browser.

Check your "download" folder in your computer or alternatively click on the arrow button on the far right of your browser task bar.
