I'm trying to make a custom model for an elytra, so that it looks like a jetpack (So with no wings.) Is there a way to do this in 1.20.1 on JE with no mods?

Use a head item with a custom model (https://web.blockbench.net/ if you still need to make the model) or spawn an armor stand wearing the head item on the player.
Why a head item? The elytra go on your back. I have already made the model, I just need to know how to replace the elytra model with it only when specific parameters are met.
I don't think you can edit non-head armor models with a resource pack. Also, you can't remove the model so you may need to cover it if you still want the same gliding. I'm sorry, but if you need to completely replace the model but still have the same flight, it is probably impossible. To everyone reading this: If I am wrong, please correct me.
