So..there's this datapack made by CommandGeek on youtube, he had some competition with some other folk for the best datapack in different categories.
Anywho. There was a particular portion of the datapack called the Null's sword. I was wondering if something similar could be made like it but for a different version..say..1.16.5? Where you can wield a sword, black particles mist around you and your character turns black, lightning strikes randomly around you, you shift and it teleports you to the closest player and forces them to look at you and jumpscares them, giving them blindness and plays a scary tone. Basically a datapack that allows you to be the monster, that gives you the ability to cause a fright at the other players demise. Is this possible?..

This is very possible. Did CommandGeek allow the download of the file and it just needs to be downgraded to 1.16.5? If so, I can do that in a couple hours, but recreating it from scratch may take a couple days.
Whatever's easiest for you to do, I'm thinking about trying to make more renditions like it...different swords, different styles and such. Personalize it, make it revolve more around itself instead of a small portion of a datapack. Refine it but- I'm decades away from the experience of that. I'm just rambling lol

I tried myself..trying to remove certain tags and change them around since they don't exist on the older version versus the version it was created for. But it came to no luck other than some occasional spooky sounds and particles
