Diamond Shards

Hi all, first post here. I was wondering if anyone would take a request to create a simple datapack that adds in diamond shards, which could drop from diamond ore instead of a full diamond. From there, one could combine diamond shards into a full diamond the way metal nuggets are combined into ingots. Anyone interested?
