I think the options are almost limitless depending on what plugins you have. Just imagine what Disco will do with them in his new adventure map.
Eyyup, even without plugins or mods, look what this guy did in 100% vanilla Minecraft.

He uses command blocks to change the time and teleport him to different versions of the village. The pressure plate in front of the Tardis also teleported him to a room for the "Bigger on the inside affect" (Affect, effect? I dunno same thing. :/)
