WARNING:This post contains OPINION. Do not get angry in the comments please.
I have recently quit playing this game due to many reasons which I will state now.
Lack of Creativity in Severs
No, don't get me wrong, there are many different servers out there that are good and not overdone. I'm talking about the overflow of PvP, Factions and Minigames severs. The community seems to shift to what people like and not try something new. While this idea sounds smart, it's never good to stick with the trend ALL the time. Sure, when factions was getting popular, make a factions server! Now, however, there is nothing new. This is one of my primary reasons for leaving.
Lack of creativity in minigame servers
As of now, it seems like when something new comes out such as a movie or game, the minigame servers jump on it. Which is FINE, but the problem is that there is nothing other than popular ideas.
The game itself
Honestly, it went wrong quite a while ago. Minecraft itself started the get away from it's original gameplay feel in 1.8-1.0. I can't play singleplayer/survival anymore because of the new feel. It simply doesn't feel like a survival game at all. And it is most definitely not a challenge.
The community
The community also shifted after 1.8. I'm not talking about age. The community seems very harsh now and rather obnoxious.(Not everyone!)I can't really go on a server without annoying people. There is also quite a bit of trolls now who think they're "funny".
I do,however, enjoy the modding community. They seem to be somewhat leading this game in the right direction and overall just making it a challenge again. I also like helping the community and providing it some fun. I like making maps with some friends and making GFX for this community. I don't despise this game, I just don't like the way it's going. Which has ultimately drawn me to quit the game.
That was my opinion and reasoning. Leave yours as well!
