Diamond Ore

I just played Caves & Cliffs for the first time and is it me or did the regular stone variant of Diamind Ore just become quite a rare occurence? I usually like to obtain the ores as blocks using the silk touch enchantment because it's fun to collect them but I noticed almost all of the new layers added to the world generation are actually 100% deepslate instead of stone meaning it's almost always going to be Deepslate Diamond Ore that generates so out of the possible layers for diamond to generate at only around 6 of the approx 64 newly added layers have a chance to generate the stone variant.
