Doomsday?

TofuTownusernamevalidI've saw a video by Vsauce that says if we were to be spun out of orbit, with no sun, we would be perfectly fine. It's all depending where you are.
This is not true. If we ever were out of orbit, our moon wouldn't be as well. So expect some crazy waves. This doesn't mean that we're fine.
If you read on further, I also stated that we would need an underwater "bunker".
If we are underwater, I think we could give a [Content Deleted] about what the waves are like.
EDIT: Also, while spinning out of orbit, when there is no heat, water tends to freeze, so waves won't even be a part of the equation. Just some knowledge.
Why yall voting for ''Never'' :I probs in a couple thousand years by global warming
When peoples grammar becomes so bad, robots stop functioning, and blow up.
none of the above i kindof think soon the way the world is war might help destroy it (dont think im a whole world peace and that crap) but it will just end God will destroy it when its time
please dont flame

Something that no one understands, the global warming Makes the tempeture rise, but it also makes it go lower than usuall in winter seasons, so basiclly its turning in to a desert, but its not our doom becous creatures has always changed to fit in the envirement.

War, will be the end of humanity.
A war against titans :3 (I kid.)
Please stop posting this kind of thread, ._. it's the 3rd one I've seen this week.

i agree, also it wont be war, itll be our own stupidity and arrogance as well as pride that kills us
why are talking about this on planet minecraft?! seriously whats with all the random C##P Latley?!
Basically we're bored and I like writing stuff.
I don't like how these are all natural disasters. Honestly, the world will surely end when humans blow the living juice out of it with nuclear or explosive weaponry. They already discussed blowing nukes on the Moon, although the idea was scrapped, it is still knowledge that they wouldn't mind blowing up planets. Go watch this Youtube video and you'll see what I mean, when I say that we have blown about... 2053 nukes on the planet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLCF7vPanrY
I did mention about how the human race would eventually destroy itself with the great power that nuclear bombs give us, because some people are just retarded enough to launch 2053 nuclear missiles at the Earth.
Alright I don't know much since I'm still kind of young but I do love science and have read many books, so here's what I know.
Ok, everyone who is basically saying that Global Warming is real are right. It is caused by carbon dioxide going in the air and its dangerous for us. (This is kind of going with Venus with greenhouse affect but I'm still not really sure about this.) With many wildfires, fires, and factories there will most likely be a Global Warming in the future. Also, the cold is from the Arctic Blast from the Arctic/North Pole where it is cold. Also the Global Warming is shown to have affect on the Arctic by causing it to melt a bit. If the whole entire Arctic melted it would basically cover the whole world 100 feet underwater (I saw this in a science book).
Alright an asteroid could hit Earth but it would have to be like medium sized to affect Earth. The dinosaurs could have most likely have died from asteroid when it send out dust to block the sun, so yeah. Like a few people said, NASA haven't really said anything about an asteroid hitting the Earth. Yeah a meteorite did hit Russia which affected them but it didn't killed anyone though? So there is a chance the Earth could be hit by an asteroid and might kill people but our atmosphere, magnetic field, and Moon could might help us out to worn down the asteroid.
Now a zombie apocalypse will probably never happen. Charlizard basically said everything that I was going to say so he basically just explained the zombie apocalypse. So it will most likely be never for the zombie apocalypse to occur since no one has actually seen or reported a zombie. If you die, your basically dead. You can't move or anything, because your spirit is basically going to go either to heaven or the underworld. So the zombie apocalypse is now explained.
Ok now aliens, I'm going to be honest but I clearly do believe in aliens. I'm sure there are other Earthlike planets out there with "aliens" living in them like we do. Imagine if Earth is the only planet in the universe with God and people living in it. It would be pretty scary if we were all alone in space with God in heaven. Aliens would most likely not invade Earth, there were some actual real reports of aliens sitings. The spaceship that crashed in Roswell, New Mexico was real. The materials that was used to make the spaceship wasn't one of our materials. The material was resistance against fire and it couldn't really be affected by anything either. I've seen a show that it has some explaining about UFO's and aliens, they have actually made me believe in aliens (100%). So, I don't think aliens would invade us since they have "visited" us many times. So on alien invasion I would say no.
Now I've had a little rant on all of the options so now I'm going to say some other "disasters" that could affect us. Alright first is the sun going "supernova" or something like that. The sun will go "supernova" in about 3-4 billion years where it will vaporize Mercury, Venus, Earth, and possibly Mars. Everyone today will basically be dead way before the sun goes "supernova" (Unless that reincarnation is real.).
Now another is from a solar flare, it won't really kill anyone just affect us in a way that can kill us. If there is a massive solar flare that hits us from the sun, it could damage satellites where we couldn't check the weather and GPS. It also could damage transformers which it can make power outages to the entire world and it would take atleast 8 months to fix most of them. If it was a really cold winter that we have right now, then it could make people freeze to death sometimes or ill. So solar flares could affect us in a way that can kill us.
This is the last one I'm going to post since this post is getting a bit long. Alright, the last one is an another Ice Age. An Ice Age couldn't really happen with the Global Warming around, but it might could. There could be a volcano eruptions where it causes ash to cover the sun and it then the temperatures starts to go down. Then when it rains the next time it actually turns to sleet/hail/ice/snow and it causes a big sheet of snow. Everything could might suddenly freeze, people would freeze and it would just be frozen from the cold temperatures but this is just my theory.
Alright thats all I'm going to rant about so yeah, If you haven't notice I do love science. Also, remember that I'm still kind of young so I don't really know as much as older people.

Zombie apocalypse? Are you joking! ZOMBIES ARE NOT REAL AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE, Once you are dead, you are dead, you wont be able to crawl, stand or even move, all you would do it fall apart. Global Warming, There is evidence against and for it, but it wont wipe our planet out, it might cause the next major extinction then more life will come when whats causing global warming to stop. The only reasonable way the world will end is when the sun runs out of fuel and forms another nebula, most of the planets might float off into space without a center of very strong gravity allow the planets to orbit around the sun. And the sun is halfway through its lifecycle. And when the nebula is formed when the sun runs out of energy, then a new star will form in the suns place and new planets will begin to develope, all earth will be is a big planet off into space, unless it hits another object. Aliens, I am not saying they are real or that they do not exists, but, An infinite space, and many "earth like" planets out thier, there has got to be some intellegent life out thier, and we may never see them. An astriod will only cause some damage and may cause another major extinction. It wont end the world, but homo sapiens (humans) may no longer roam the earth. If you chose never you are stupid. The world will end, but not in the time of humans, or at least in our lifetime. The only reasonable choice up thier SHOULD be in 4.5 billion years when the sun runs out of fuel. I think it is stupid when people want the zombie apocalypse to happen. All you will do is run. You wont shoot or kill them, unless the very few people,And people feer the unknown. You probably wont know what a real, non-computer animated zombie looks like. I think it is just stupid. And people wonder why a lot of people are messed up. Well, Thats my little rant
If these don't happen, pollution may cause our demises.
none the sun will explode after a few billion years but we wont die until then unless we kill each other peace love happiness smoke everyday 420
There's plenty of ways. Here would be my favourites:
Neutron star
Sun turning into Red Giant
Asteroid
Other solar system colliding with ours
Radiation from near exploding stars
As you can see I love space.
I'm not saying these are good, but if my planet had to die, i'd want to get hit with something from space.

EDIT: Oops. You were joking. Looks like you're actually a smart person.
The only cause that I could decide on voting is Global Warming, as this is highly possible. Global Warming is actually mostly man-made, not just some random heatstorm that will cover the Earth for thousands of years. No, actually, it's because of all the carbon dioxide and other harmful gasses we release into our atmosphere every day. Carbon dioxide insulates heat, meaning that it traps heat in. We have about 15 billion tons of that stuff in the atmosphere. We're basically smothering the Earth in heat from the Sun. Here's a mathematical equation to demonstrate:
Earth+Carbon Dioxide=Insulating Layer
Earth+Sunlight=Heat
Insulating Layer+Heat= Smothering of the Earth in intense heat.
Other than global warming, I think that the human race will wipe itself and possibly the entire planet out by nuclear warfare. I hate to admit it, but some people are actually retarded enough to launch high-powered nuclear missiles at the Earth in and attempt to kill their enemies. If too many of these are launched, we could kill the entire human race and blow up the planet. Even if we don't destroy the planet ourselves, we could hit by a stray meteor and wiped out like the dinosaurs, aliens could invade, although there is a very miniscule possibility of aliens even existing, we could be sucked into a blackhole, mad scientists could create enough antimatter to level the entire planet, and finally(and the most unavoidable), in about a billion years or two our sun will expand into a red giant and swallow Mercury, Venus, us, and Mars whole. Not that humans will be alive at that point, but if we were, we wouldn't be for much longer.

A bit more scientific way to look at it...?
...
Aliens, don't necessarily have to be green men in UFOs. Any form of life that isn't from Earth is an alien. That means any plant, animal or even bacteria. Plant and bacteria alien life is significantly more likely to be come across than sentient alien life. Or to lessen the odds a bit more, a sentient race violent towards humans.
...
And global warming, exaggerated and term thrown around a lot? Yes. Fake? Plenty of evidence to disprove it being fake.

If you're talking about a "End of humans" scenario, global warming. Why? Look at the rate we are going into heating up the Earth, and it's expanding. smoke from factories and cars release C02 (carbon dioxide) which contributes to the ever-growing number of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Yes, some countries have cut back on pollution but others.... not so much. If this keeps going, we are going to have to live underground because of the ice caps melting or have a giant ship where most of the human population can live. (2012 reference)
Now if you are talking about a "Earth-ending" scenario, either the sun's massive expansion in about 5 billion years, or the chance of a asteroid the size of... the one that hit the earth million's of years before.

life will always find a way. humans as a species are quick to adapt to changes in our environment. although there will likely never be a doomsday scenario, there's a chance there will be a good number of humans still alive from a global catastrophe. at that point we simply repopulate and adapt.
According to Science, 'Doomsday' will, -might-, happen when the sun either expands and engulfs the earth, or when it shrinks.
Same with the moon. The moon is what creates the tides on earth, thanks to it's gravitational pull.
if it moves further out/shrinks, the tides will go away, if it moves closer/expands, the tides will become more fierce, and eventually create the biggest Tsunami (said suname) in the world, thus, destroying the world.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I'm just thinking that that'll happen, the thing about the moon and Tsunami and shizzles are only what I think, the sun is scientific and true.

Global warming is real, and there is evidence to support it. Please show me evidence of your theories.

Charlizard
Now, last but not least, global warming. Stop calling it a myth - especially without evidence. There is substantial evidence that supports it by top scientists around the world. Some kid on the internet can't disprove their theories and data by saying 'I said so'.
Have NASA's website as an example. http://climate.nasa.gov/
NASA is a trusted website that has some of the greatest minds alive today working for them and they have more than sufficient data that supports the theory of global warming. They have data, graphs, pictures, information, and, most importantly, sources. Unlike people that wildly claim it's a myth, they get evidence to support their claims. Sure, if you can provide evidence that global warming is not real, feel free to provide it to them. That's what science is all about - adjusting its views based on what's observed.
Global warming is greatly exaggerated.
A comparison of 117 climate predictions from the 90's to the actual amount of warming shows that THREE were roughly accurate, the study's author said. 114 overestimated the amount of warming.
In 1989, the AP reported that "Using computer models, researchers concluded that global warming would raise average annual temperatures nationwide 2 degrees by 2010."
According to NASA, global temperature increased by only about 0.7 degrees Fahrenheit from 1989 to 2010.
wow such rant that i can't be bothered to go back and quote XD.
yeah we're all gonna die someday, i doubt that the apocalypse would happen before that.
in 50 billion years or something,
the sun is gonna get big and red,
and swallow most of the planets in the solar system.
there.
but i won't be alive then, so idc.
unless i get reincarnated, then that'd suck.
i read waay too many science books btw
but yeah most of the population would die from zombie apocalypse if it did happen, because people just aren't as strong as they are in the movies, and admit it, you'd probably run off in fear if you saw a zombie, rather than going to fight it.

I dont care if something happens im staying inside
I've saw a video by Vsauce that says if we were to be spun out of orbit, with no sun, we would be perfectly fine. It's all depending where you are. If you are in an underground bunker with the necessities, and with a hydroelectric generator pumping water through for filtration and energy, you'd survive. If humans were to build an underwater mega-bunker, with a worthy sized hydroelectric generator and filtration system with the food and water that humans needed, and so say the sun expanded, if we can have enough force moving away from the gravity of the sun, we can fly through space unto forever or until we can reach another sun. And oddly enough, the chances of that happening is the same for another planet to think the same thing, and end up in our solar-system.
Wow. Isn't life amazing? And spaaaace. Space too.
Wow. Isn't life amazing? And spaaaace. Space too.

If we're talking about the end of the Earth it's self, I think the most likely end will be through the impact of a huge foreign celestial body. No matter what we do to Earth we won't be able to destroy it ourselves (especially accidentally), planets are far too resilient.
Now, if we're talking about end of Human-kind, I believe it will be through political breakdown and civil and global war. It's just a matter of time until people completely loose it with the governments and go nuts.

You need to add the option that in 50 million years when the sun enlarges an 1 burns the earth from being to close to it or 2 it swallows the earth and then burns the earth.
Try 3-4 BILLION years...

Ah, the threads that never cease to entertain me. Always full of naive/ignorant children that INSIST their opinion is correct and you're stupid if you think otherwise.
Truth is, if there was a zombie apocalypse like the Walking Dead, for instance, you wouldn't enjoy it. You would break down and cry.
Have you ever killed a man before? How about a horrifically infected cannibal that is trying to eat your flesh? Didn't think so.
You would either attempt to kill one with your trusty baseball bat and barely leave a dent or you would run away and eventually die due to starvation/something else.
I very very much doubt that anyone here would be able to cope with the loss of a loved one in the way that they would be lost if a zombie apocalypse happened. You would stare at their body be mutilated by screaming rotten flesh and be trembling so much you wouldn't be able to move. I'm sorry, but you're not Eren Jaeger so don't think you can magically overcome such a psychologically torment event in a matter of days.
Also, why do people always insist government experiments are ALWAYS wrong? Sure, the NSA sucks, the economy sucks, it's hard to get a job, etc. etc. but that doesn't mean the government sucks at science. How do you think penicillin was made? Experimenting. How do you think vaccines (don't get me started on vaccines) were made? Experimenting. Just because some random movie you watched had a zombie apocalypse due to the ohso corrupt government's secret experiments, it doesn't mean it will really happen. The government, as slimy as some may be, is ran by people (not lizards. That's only Bush).
Now that rant's over, time to rant about 'the astroid that they say is gonna hit russia'. Who is they? When is said asteroid going to hit Russia? What part of Russia? How large is said asteroid? How much will said asteroid burn up/break up in the atmosphere? These are all vital questions. Sources people, sources.
'By aliens (Select this and you are stupid...)' well that's just snide and downright rude. We don't know whether there is other life in the universe - let alone what it's like. There could be some non carbon ET life that could be highly hostile and have, somehow, advanced technology that allows them to travel inter-planetary very easily and quickly. Dismissing this due to seeing sci-fi films is preposterous. Whilst it is highly unlikely and the chances are so miniscule that we can't even calculate them, it isn't impossible.
That's what science is all about - adjusting its views based on what's observed.
ok, rant over.
