Hello everyone of Planet Minecraft... While as some of you may think of me as a cry baby for this but I'm serious this is just something that has been pissing me of at the bottom of my soul for ever. I have been playing MCSG and every other SG server for the last 6 hours trying to get a recording for my channel: https://www.youtube.com/DrJayPlays. But for gods sakes I'm not a bad minecraft player and I wouldn't call my self good ether but for -no- sake its pissing me off that tons of players everywhere are god damn hacking scum. Recently I had someone hop about 6 blocks of water to kill me, had a guy walk through fire and not take damage or get lit on fire, had a guy 20 blocks away facing the other way hit me and kill me with his fist doing two hears a hit. People are just not fair its just getting too hard to do anything on minecraft. Its just not even fun to play with all these people making it boring. I want to start something where a community of people can work together to find some way to stop this. Its just UHHGGGHGHHHGGHH I'm just getting so pissed off. I want something to be done about all of these dumb, no life hackers who cant play the game! Idk I just wanna hear you guy and your opinions because this is making me never want to play the game again.

Indeed. More servers need to install anti-griefclient plugin. Some servers have it. And theres no hacking. Also there are many people who just cheat and use glitches at there

Just avoid all the PvP servers, I mean this isn't technically hacking and I'm sure, in atleast a couple of the stories mentioned the issues were caused by lag. On my server (mc.sch00lb0ygamers.com) I can easily deal with any hackers because they cant PvP in my spawn and since the rest of the server is non-PvP I can ban them and be quick to return lost items and even fix blocks that have been greifed. Yes there are hacked clients, one member of my Staff has one he uses to help me find people x-raying and using other Survival enhancing Hacks, if I could I would erase them entirely but its not that simple, I just stay alert and find them as fast as possible, making sure no one innocent gets harmed!

You have a point about MCSG but MCSG servers mostly are non-moderated and simply on a recycling game system where the game begins, end and start again. No one has ever really pushed a fully moderated group survival games servers yes it would be hard to do on a larger scale without a huge management team, however eventually here at HVN we will look to opening perhaps 2/3 MCSG fully moderated game lobbies. It will take time before our management team grows to real that level but it will happen!
Hacking is, I think a quite big problem for Minecraft. Especially after this Mojang accounts issue..

One way to end hacking would be to code a plugin that if you get banned on one server that uses that plugin you get banned on all of them... and you can also edit who are banned on your server but it suggest to ban these and these and you accept the bans!

Currently trying to throwback Minecraft to the way it was. I'm developing several plugins to stop the pure nonesense that most servers have nowadays. Also going to start hosting my own servers, so I can create a fun community.
I agree with you, I've cheated a lot in my life, but it's become pure nonesense. It's not a game anymore, everyone is using cheats and it's more of a cheater vs cheater game.

Most of these self proclaimed "Hackers" don't even know how to modify the game's code themselves. They look up where to download such things and learn how to use it. So essentially there's only a few minecrafters in the community that actually know how to modify the game to obtain unfair advantages over other players.
So essentially, the only option I've seen is using the snapshot servers. As you know, Minecraft is constantly upgrading. With these constant upgrades usually comes a change in how Minecraft works. Most people who make mods (including the bukkit/spigot devs) don't see a reason to make these clients support the latest snapshots as they are buggy, unstable, and usually rendered outdated within the next week.
But other than that, you can theoretically say that about a fresh new Minecraft update as well. You won't see any "Zombie" or "Nodus" on the latest Minecraft updates as soon as they come out.

The punishment for using one of the mass-produced "hacked clients" is that your password is sent off to anyone who wants it. If you're you're willing to pay that price, then go nuts; I'd rather keep my Minecraft account to myself, thank you very much.

Well, for those who really want to cause trouble and annoy people, the could change their IP address or use other accounts. I've seen some people get access to other people's MC accounts through hacking and then harass an unfortunate server owner. There are probably other methods I've forgotten or don't know of..[/quote]
I don't think your IP address has anything to do with anything, but I think it's clear that you should try to stay on "uncracked," "actively moderated" servers. It's true that this won't stop every hacker, but I doubt they'd have much fun spending 2 hours trying to circumvent a ban only to get banned again five minutes into playing

Nodus has not been discontinued...it is out for 1.72..it has just changed developers

Two wrongs don't make a right. There's no need to sink down to their level and use hacks.
I don't even consider it "Sinking down to their level". They're on an entirely different planet. A planet who's soul purpose is to ruin the game for others because their experience on the game was horrible to start with.

Thirdly, a "Hacked client" is slang for a a client that gives you unfair advantages. Code isn't needed to bypass anti-cheat programs, you wouldn't create a class to bypass a plugin, that isn't how it works.
Finally, telling someone to fight fire with fire isn't a great idea. Instead, recommend positive alternatives to problems or solutions to them.

Don't fight fire with fire. It takes two seconds to download a hacking client, because most hackers don't make their clients themselves. What is their to gain from doing what they're doing to get revenge on a game? The hackers get bored eventually. When nothing can beat you, there's no point to a game.

I would agree with Z645, I would love DDoS'ing to stop, but it simply won't.
I'll admit I don't play much multiplayer outside of close friends, but I would imagine if you had a server with online mode on and active moderators, wouldn't they be able to blacklist hackers? Or is there a way of circumventing blacklists that I'm not aware of?

There is McBans and what not. But they do the best they can. Doesn't mean it'll stop every single hacker on the game. Lots of servers don't use global server banning stuff like this. So yea.. Get banned on one server, move to another.
They don't like to lose, so they use modded clients, plain and simple. Sadly, not much can be done about this, because as mentioned, Minecraft's code is open to editing by those who know how to. And since Minecraft is such an easy game to alter, these people come in hoards.

I hate to break it to you, but the "hackers" (who aren't hackers, but simply immature brats who say they are, but are actually using modded clients) will never be properly dealt with, as long as Minecraft's code is open to change, which, if it weren't, would mortally wound any mod writers. I agree, they are annoying brats who don't deserve to be on the game, but they aren't leaving any time soon.
Meh, I care little. I mostly ban hackers when I come across them, and on the server network that I am administrating (http://www.floh-crack.com) I barely have to deal with hackers, since that community is dieing. Sadly.
As for survival servers: you also have these people who join a FTB Ultimate server with some kind of crazy "Force Gamemode 1" client. That was just awkward. Gotto love backups and rollback though xD

Hackers are noob. They are too lazy to learn how to play a game good, so they use things like nodus to look good.
I play things like MCSG aswell, but the amount of hackers are just disturbing. Every match, you have approximately 4 people with hacked clients. This is quite annoying. I mostly am able to outsmart them with my team, but you will also get hated for teaming up on an hacker, sadly. Also, it is no fun if one of your teammates gets killed by some kind of hack.
I have had 1 terrible experience with an hacker, probably a nodus user. A long time ago, on the MCSG survival games 1 map... I had like full gear and only had to kill a few more players. One of them had a wooden sword and basically no armor. I was chasing him, but whilst he was sprinting away from me he was hitting me. So, he was able to hit me, a person chasing him whilst sprinting, whilst sprinting... That is not possible. I died.
Ah well, what can we do against it, right? They are just people...
