I help run a hosted server, and i was wondering what kind of fun plugins are out there for players, the server is Faction, Pvp, Raiding, etc. Also suggestions that help with players liking a server, staying on, and coming back

Thank You

If your server is already Faction, PVP, etc then I'm assuming you already have many of the plugins you would need. But obviously some type of permissions manager, I prefer PEX, and essentials are a basic requirement of nearly every server that doesn't want to just be flogged by hacks.

As for the successful server bit. I posted this as a response a few weeks back and I stand by it.

I think the success of a server is largely a matter of perception. Some owners are content having servers which get 5-10 people a day on it, most of them regulars, and then others are imagining their server to be the direct competition to the likes of Hypixel. Ultimately, the success of the server should be measured by those who play on it. Whether it is four people or 400 people, the owner's job isn't to be a dictator or to play God it is to create an elaborate world with the tools provided by Mojang and other talented developers. A world which people love to be a part of, either on their own or with throngs of other Minecrafters. Server owners can set goals for the user base or donations but if the server isn't one which people actually have fun being a part of then, even if those goals are eventually met, the quest the owner undertook when beginning development didn't actually come to fruition.

Run a server to have fun playing on a world you created and invite others to help you have fun. That is the best way I could describe a good owner. I've played on tons of servers with tons of people and the best ones are the ones in which the owners are there in the arena in iron armor next to the newbie with leather against the two vets with diamond. It is the server which stays true to the original concept of the server and not changing it up so it can fit in with other servers because every player type deserves their own niche. And it is the server which is built by the owner for the player, with their play styles, preferences, suggestions, and feedback visibly used to shape the very world they dedicate so much time in. While I've found some servers that seem to grasp part of this, it is the areas which they are lacking that led myself and a few others to break away and start our own server with those ideals in mind.

In short, measure the success however you see fit but if you are willing to take any suggestion from me at all, then take this: Donations are meant to support the server not to support the owner. Minecraft should ALWAYS be Play to Win NOT Pay to Win. And player counts are just numbers. You can get 40 hits in an hour but if only one of them sticks around then they are the player that matters not the 39 that got away, so don't dwell on it.
