Might jus be something i did but ever since the 1.5 update I cannot use texture packs...everytme i do log on to multiplayer or singleplayer an i am fine UNTIL i try to place or remove a block(or flower or whatever) the game will crash!mquite annoying as I have found a couple Packs I really like! I have tried several packs...they all crash(even if they are 1.5_01 compatable)

You Can Open The Texture Pack and Check if everything of the Texture Pack have the new things(Thunders,Snow,Rain,etc...) And WoxandWarf My statute have been finished?

You need to make sure that you are using the version of the patcher that is compatible with the current version of the game. If you are using an older version, it will shatter the universe (of Minecraft) for you.
hmm...i didnt even think about that ......might be the problem
yea the default works...I guess i could try that but the packs i use have to use the patcher....idk if it would work the old fashioned way...though I could find new ones

thats what i thought so i have tried about 10 different packs...so either i have horrible choice...or....they jus arnt working

Not every Texturepack is avaible with newer Versions!
