HELP! 1.8 game breaking problem!

On 1.8 i have a huge lighting glitch!
Whenever I place a torch it makes it darker and/or makes blocks spaz out muliticolured and see through.
I've tried a fresh minecraft and so many things with no prevail.
Its truly game breaking and i need help.

Like ZaphodX said, try turning off Smooth Lighting or switch a Texture pack. If this doesn't help try changing brightness AND if it really doesn't work get Optifine.
turn off smooth lighting? Are you using a texture pack?
