HELP! (MINECRAFT NOT RESPONDING)

Please help! When eve I join servers or single player my game freeze's. When ever I try to eat my game freeze's or if I make something with McEdit and get to close it freeze's or sometimes it just out of the blue ******* Freeze's! I have tried updating Java an it didn't work.
