Depends of what Os you are using on your laptop/Desktop
Well killertoad is wrong, RAM is key to game play. If your ram fill up your game stops while it tries to start writing on your hard drive. You can't play games that way. But right click your start bar and click on 'start the taskmanager' click on the performance tab. He was right you do need a good GPU, preferably one with built in ram and a good CPU bt RAM is essential.
If on windows, do Ctrl + Alt + del and then "start task manager" and then at the top, go to the "performance" tab, and there ya go.
P.S. "memory" is your ram usage.
Also, ram doesn't determine if you can play a game or not, it has to do with your CPU, and GPU.
