How do i add maps to my server?

Hi there! I just wanna say that i cant add custom maps to my server. It doesn´t work even if i re-name the propeties thingy! Im happy if i get help!

use a plugin like multiverse or multiword you need a bukkit server for one of this plugins
I'll tell you how with pleasure!
Okay so first, find the map you want and place it on your desktop
Then you rename it to "world".
There will be a map in the server map folder which got these folders:
"world_nether"
"world"
"world_end"
You want to delete "world" don't delete it before you're sure. You can also move it to desktop.
After that you place the custom map in the server folder and there ya go! Just run the server and it shall be fixed
