Some of you may have heard java 8 is now available at http://www.java.com. I just got the upgrade, So for better minecraft get java 8.1. This is just a post telling people.

Edit: It may not work on minecraft yet, Unless not much code changes were made.

It's been tested a lot by the OpenJDK community. The only thing I've seen that isn't compatible is MCPC Plus.

Nah, it should still work. As I haven't actually looked at what the update has changed, I'm just going to go with the general assumption that Oracle tries to keep things as backward compatible as possible. Yes, there could be issues, but I doubt it.

The only real relevance this will have is going to be on developers wanting to use the extra features added into Java 8, and players looking for more optimization. In both cases, people should wait a bit before a tested and stable build of Java 8 is available; 0 day ships are normally full of bugs.
