Java Reason why.
Mostly because Java runs better than bedrock
and you can do mods and texture packs.
Bedrock only has addons which pretty much just replaces a block that's already in the game with something else.
Overall both editions are good but in my book java is better.

No offense to Bedrock edition (it's really good too), but I prefer the hitting animation of Java than Bedrock (you can notice a differeence). And I don't look the sprint jump animation of Bedrock. Looks unnatural to me.
Not sure why there's so many differences between to two editions. Properties of some mobs are different. Why not unify it a bit more? Any reasons?

My favorite version is Legacy Console, but out of these two I prefer Bedrock. The only real thing I think is objectively worse than Java is the way Redstone works but even then I rarely use it, usually only for a few auto farms and a small super smelter.

Java.
Because better things can run on java. Like mods or texturepacks. Also its easier to use.
