Java Especially For Mods And Servers Unless Your Friends Only Have Bedrock
Java for the sole reason of being the only version i own

Depends really. If you like mods, shaders, and customization that can be tailored to your needs? Choose Java Edition.
If you want high accessibility on all platforms, with good performance without mods, “as long as you're on a switch,” with some modding and shader support? Choose Bedrock Edition.

I prefer Java nowadays, but saying this as a former occasional Java and primarily Bedrock player in the past. (Xbox 360 MC my beloved)
