Drakansteal, yes there is a way. Some people put their Jar files on the internet, you just download it and replace it. I still have 1.6.6, but it's modded.

Anyone know a efective, safe way to downgrade minecraft? I was playing on a bucket server and not thinking, updated minecraft. Now i'm stuck with 1.7 and can't play multiplayer. And judging to what's been happening to poeple when they mess with pistons, singleplayer isn't safe either. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm on my server so I can just give myself pistons :3 I'm testing them out right now.

all i need is 1 iron and 1 redstone then i can make a piston

if u create a world with 1.7 u can use it, but it isnt letting me use previously generated worlds

i have 1.7 but now y mods wont work cuz they arnt updated damn no sp commands ahhh its killin me
