I'm not sure if this is happening to others, but. When I run minecraft 1.8 and play multiplayer it runs FINE. I get anywhere from around 175-200 FPS but when I play single player I get around 5-15. Anyone having this too?

True, it may not be your computer. But, that's the first thing you SHOULD try. If it doesn't work, then yes. It's okay to assume it's the patch. I'm just trying to be helpful and say that mine was laggy because the settings were messing up my computer, so I had to lower them, and it's possible that, that might be the problem, so it's worth a shot. Since mine was less laggy after I turned the settings down.

Have you people even read the thread? In the first post he said that normally he has 175-200 FPS and now with new patch it's really laggy. It's not our computers, it's the new patch.

Play with your minecraft settings to get it to where you computer can handle it. I know on mine, I had to turn my distance to short to get the lag spikes to stop. >.> Can't wait to get my new computer running. I won't have to turn settings down. I'll be turning them all the way up.

Im having this problem too, even my old SP world is lagging, when i make new ones they lag even worse. It might be a bug or something from the 1.8 update.Either that or just takes too long for the map generator to generate things.

There should be a mod for reducing those FPS drop spikes. Try looking for it.

Use 64 bit java.

Assign more memory to minecraft.

Close every program other than minecraft.

Try restarting the world. Still laggy?

Get optimine/optifog when it comes out.

no... it means your computer has to render and fabricate everything you see, where on a multiplayer server, the server hardware does that for you.
