Wanna feel old, maybe even nostalgic for those simpler days?
Well, this is the contest for you!
In this scenario, skinning good will be hard, but not impossible!
Now, why is it hard though? Because you can only use the colors supported by the VGA video output cable.
But why would that be limiting?
Because you can only use 16 colors, and a palette of 4 colors per side of a shape!
What would this look like? Here, have a example!
https://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/a-humanoid-contest-example/
Acceptable colors (VGA Standard aka 4 bit RGBI):
-Black (Brightness 0%)
-Dark grey (Brightness 41%)
-Light grey (Brightness 72%)
-White (Brightness 100%)
-Red (Brightness 100%, Saturation 100%, Hue 0%)
-Dark red (Brightness 57%, Saturation 100%, Hue 0%)
-Yellow (Brightness 100%, Saturation 100%, Hue 60%)
-Dark yellow (Brightness 57%, Saturation 71%, Hue 60%, ty Linksu for the correction :D)
-Green (Brightness 100%, Saturation 100%, Hue 120%)
-Dark green (Brightness 57%, Saturation 100%, Hue 120%)
-Blue (Brightness 100%, Saturation 100%, Hue 240%)
-Dark blue (Brightness 57%, Saturation 100%, Hue 240%)
-Aqua (Brightness 100%, Saturation 100%, Hue 180%)
-Dark aqua (Brightness 57%, Saturation 100%, Hue 180%)
-Pink (Brightness 100%, Saturation 100%, Hue 300%)
-Dark pink (Brightness 157%, Saturation 100%, Hue 300%)

I ran in to an issue where I did the color dark yellow with the values on the list but it looked too bright compared to what was on the wiki so it turned out that the saturation is 71% and the lightness is 34% based off the colors I pulled from the pallete that nocturn is talking about.

Tomorrow, I will properly annalise the image to get the exact values, as it is currently 12:35 am for me lol

That's completely fine, as long as you're using colors from the palette only. (The image linked in the previous comment, or the values I listed which are rough estimates as to what the actual values are.)

The dark yellow values have now been edited on the page, with given credit. Ty for the correction!

also just to be clear 4 colors per side of shape, is it cool if I have a different 4 colors on the helmet layer than whats being used on the head layer? is it considered 2 different shapes? or did you mean like the 2 head layers would be considered the same shape? that's my last q lol

I look forward to your submission! :D

Absoultely! They aren't connected on the image file itself, so that is completely allowed!
4 colors for each part of the image.
4 colors for each part of the image.

I just got what you meant, I thought you meant per side of a shape as in a face but I'm guessing you're meaning 4 colors per polygon/cube

Yes. Note that the HSB values I used aren't on spot with the colors, but they're close.
EDIT: Fixed all of the HSB values.
