You might enjoy starting a roleplay group/clan and playing on a server, rather than looking specifically for a roleplay server. I started a ninja clan, although I should have been more careful and less quick about who I chose to be in it.

It is set in Medieval times but has magic and mystery around every corner. The in depth lore and dedicated staff makes everything worth it. Massivecraft is a roleplay server with very deep lore and rules that allow roleplay to not be "Timmy flies into another world and eats the magic cheeseburger of super duper rainbow power ups" it has context and people take it seriously, its more along the lines of "Timmy the human slowly creeps up on his friend, before scaring him!" and I find it enjoyable
