I use Windows, but trust me: if Linux had more compatibility with stuff, and if it was more popular among consumers, I would jump right on the Linux train.

There is NOTHING you can do on OS X that you cannot do on windows.
In fact, with window's more open source model, you can do much more. But if you are really into that sort of thing, something like ubuntu would work nicely.
The only real PROBLEM with OS X and also the only reason it doesn't encounter many errors is because it's designed to work with very few 'apple approved' products, meaning that it will only work properly on computer sold by apple themselves, or a computer specially designed to work with it (using a very limited set of parts).
This essentially means that apple are not keen on people building their own computers. therefore, you are expected to buy one of their INSANELY overpriced desktops.

The problem with OS X is not the OS itself, but rather the distribution of it.

PC, because I can game, program, edit photos, and I can edit it.
You can do all of this with Linux, but with the exception of programming, it's all too complicated on Linux.

PC, because on the PC there is something called Hackint0sh which makes the PC a Mac. I also like the PC because I've been using the PC since I was 3.

I find that mac is easier to use, better for watching videos ie: youtube.
and skinning/texturing. but i like windows for games and stuff but i wouldn't vote for it.

Honestly, it depends what you use it for, I mean a Highly paid business man will use a Mac, where as a server hoster will not.

A child uses Windows because it's easy, and other computer novices. Gamers also mainly use Windows due to the ease of installing and playing games

But 9 out of 10 Super computers use Linux, due to the little ram it uses and, server hosters also use it, but it can be a pain to set up for a novice, and installing games is difficult unlike windows where its just a click and install

So really they are all good in different ways, it just depends on who you are and how you use your computer

Windows, out of OSX and Windows 7 is the dodgiest. The antivirus and firewall built in to it are bad, not to mention that Windows has an NSA key that allows them to have full access to your computer.

LOL? Windows doesn't have security problems aslong as you have an Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, and Internet Anti-Virus. And about the programming and editing, Windows has some of the top editing and programming tools available. (Photoshop, GIMP, C4D, Adobe After Effects, etc.)

Windows is top dog for gaming, end of story. And you can't upgrade macs unless you take them to someone and where's the fun in that? With Windows PCs you can swap and switch parts to your highest delight.

And for all the 'coders' saying "Linux for the win! lolololololOLoloLOllolOLOLOlol!"
Coding and programming can be done on both Windows and Macs just as well.

However, all those security programs use up a nice bit of CPU, no? i agree with the selection of programs however, that is something in which windows wins. And with regards to the last paragraph; not a lot of coders say linux is the best. I dont. I think its no better than any other OS for programming.

Windows, out of OSX and Windows 7 is the dodgiest. The antivirus and firewall built in to it are bad, not to mention that Windows has an NSA key that allows them to have full access to your computer.

But mac and linux, soon as you learn how to use them, are way easier and way more customizable. It is way worth it. Mac and Linux have a lot more they can do. Although coding for both can, at times be painful.

I am currently investing money into building a computer with the ability to swap between the Apple and Windows operating system. So best of both worlds maybe?

Linux. Personally, i very much dislike Windows, Mac isnt too bad (it is based off Unix after all) I havent heard much publicity around Solaris or FreeBSD so i assume its mainly specialists that use it
