Minecraft Doesn't work!!!

I wanted to play minecraft, although i have found a problem. I cant play online even if my internet is up and running smoothly? Please help!

Well guess what 1.3 is coming this month! Just not right now...

Man this is one long offline experience
Every time minecraft.net is down, its just saying that servers are down. Not updates. People say that its the updates, but that has never worked. Updates come out of the blue, and if they would update, they wouldn't shut down the servers to do so. It would not take that much time to add in the new update.
Uh minecraft.net was down when 1.2 was about to come out!

dude no its the same for me mojang is condensing all the updates 1.2.7-8-9 all into one making it 1.3 so its taking a long time so its gana be down till tomorow

The servers are down, it could be because they are updating. If it isn't up because they are updating it is therefore down.
Yeah sam, when i try to login it says cannot connect to minecraft.net
If your having the same problem then it must be something to do with minecraft.net
Maybe the update is coming soon?
But if we're both having the same problem, i doubt you and me can fix the problem.
