Minecraft! Faster! HD! C++!

I am thinking about assembling a team of developers to COMPLETLY rewrite minecraft, and everything it does. From creeper, to leaves. The reason is we could make minecraft less of a hog to play on (Java), and actually more decent to the eye. Would you like to see shadows, lighting effects, without mods, and not lagging you out? Well thats what C++ is going to add to your minecraft. Yes it'll be alot of work, but we can make an already amazing game into a BETTER game.
Were looking for
1.) Programmers (must know c++ or another programming language that can be used for game logic)
2.) Minecraft experts
3.) Someone that can translate Java into C++
I heard somewhere that you can do the rendering in C++, and the game dynamics in simple to use LUA, which would allow for mods . Tell me what you guys think and whether you would be interested in joining.

Luacraft already does this?
well i know C# and java. if that helps. but wouldnt it be simpler to write a mod that makes minecraft compatable with lua instead of rewriting the game. not to mention since its mojangs property, you cannot sell the game after it is done.
Well Minecraft is already beautiful for me because I use a few mods to enhance how everything looks c:
