I recently bought Minecraft - Java Edition, but I'm no stranger to this game and I've played before, but I now have a simple, yet annoying issue: My default skin is Alex and I hate that skin so I decided to change it. I've tried with 2 or 3 downloaded skins and Steve(in the launcher and Minecraft profile on my browser), but in every case, it says that my skin has been updated successfully, but when I enter the game, I'm stuck with Alex(in single-player and multi-player) I've also tried to connect to different routes or Wi-Fi networks, but it was all in vain. Hope I explained well enough and someone will help azarshagle me.
Thanks

I would suggest Bomber Friends as a best solution of this
Just to make it clear, you download a skin and it successfully shows up in the launcher, and when you use it the pop up says it’s been updated successfully, but as soon as you go in game it doesn’t load your skin?
I can only thing of connection issues. I know there’s a bug where OTHER players can’t see your skin, but I’ve never heard of not being able to see your own skin. It might just be a bug, all I can think of is re-uploading and re-using different skins over and over again and re launching Minecraft. Good luck!

Yeah, download a skin from my profile page and everything will work absolutely fine, haha.
ive had this issue. im afraid the best way to fix it is ignore it. do what u do to update on the launcher. and then wait. might be days or something but it will eventually update.
another issue is if u play offline it will never load your skin. at least for me. starting in offline mode apparently disables the skin feature.

Skins are stored on a separate server that can go down from time to time. Its been like this since Minecraft's inception. Just gotta wait for the server to come back online
