When i try to connect to my server i get this error java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol family: connect i also get this error when it trys to load the minecraft news on the login screen. Help?

If you still have this problem then 1. to fix check to see if you have a program installed called "Relevant Knowledge" (to find go to task manager and find and uninstall this "rlvknlg.exe" If you do then Uninstall it. 2.then get this and run it to fix http://winsockfix.en.softonic.com/
i can update, so i dont think thats it. and the weird part is that it only does it like every other day

i know what this could be... try to disable your wifi protection, my wifi protectiong thingy doesn't allow my mc to download any components like updates or anything, or connecting to other routers and stuff, i now disabled it, and i can play mc like before
i know this is from over a year ago...but this is happening to me and idk how to uninstall java, or where it is on my computer

I've done all that and its still not working. Its not a server problem. Java just isn't allowing me to connect to anything. Minecraft won't even show the news because of the error
uninstall java then reinstall it
There's nothing wrong with his router there is something wrong with the port connection >.< go to your MCmyadmin control panel and try to restart your server, also reinstall MC after deleting all components...
I can't connect to any servers. and other people can connect to my server. My brother who is connected to the same wifi as me can connect but i cant

If you can then there's a problem with the IP you put in... And if not then there's a problem with your connection, reset it by turning on and off your modem.

Can't force update cause it says fatal error and then the same error. I can get on minecraft.net but can't play in browser
Have you forced updated? Maybe see if you can connect to Minecraft.net or it could be that you're being hacked...but thats unlikely.
