There are moments in minecraft where things turn really scary and worrying...like deep underground, no torches.....1 pickaxe which is nearly broken, times like that are very sinister.

Minecraft's about to get that extra boost of scariness in 1.8. There's most likely going to be a new mob called an Endermen (Like Slendermen!) check it out here! http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Endermen
I scared the living poop outta myself the first time I played the game with monsters on... my heart can't take much more.

True but survival will become intense, and if notch goes through with the hunger, minecraft will get scarier. which is a plus for me since i live for scaring people >:D
now now, don't fret if torches do end up doing that....we have MODS!!!
it will be even scarier when torches no longer last forever... they will eventually flicker out and die...
