More RAM, No More Java?

So, recently, I updated the Minecraft launcher, but I can't remember what a message said regarding Minecraft. I think it said that the game doesn't use Java anymore??? I'm probably wrong, but I want to know if it's true. I also noticed that Minecraft has more RAM now (~1,100MB). I've heard that you can allocate more RAM for Minecraft, but I don't remember doing anything. There's nothing wrong, I'm just genuinely curious about what happened.

He said nothing was wrong...
Minecraft now downloads java for you into a folder called 'runtime' instead of you having to install it.
Which means you don't have to have java previously installed to play minecraft.
EDIT: I skipped over the part where he wanted to know how to get more allocated. But that is not the right way to allocate more RAM to Minecraft whatsoever.
There are some good tutorials out there a quick Google search should bring up a few.
