Hello ! did you know java is the original minecraft edition ? if you want to play java, first install the Modrinth app or some other launchers like Prism launcher, curseforge. To have shaders, use the mod called Iris, it makes you able to install shaders, just go to video settings in mc. Here is some QoL mods that doesn't change the gameplay : Sodium ImmediatelyFast, ModernFix, e4mc, Resourcify. And the best and less laggy shaders are photon, Complementary Shaders, Nostalgia, SuperDuperVanilla, BSL shaders and Shrimple. just go at modrinth or curseforge to download them. JAVA IS THE BEST EDITION !!!!! And for the inspiration, you can just imagine or go to these websites blockpallettes buildit and this video and this too. Hope it helped !
miniature shader and solas shader are my go to shaders. if you are looking at resource packs, theres a resource pack called Cub3D, sugar cane 3D, Nico's 3D ladders, Skys 3d barrel, Undopia 3d bookshelf, Undopia 3d carved pumpkin, Undopia chiseled bookshelf, undopia 3d furnacesm undopia dispenser and dropper. those all make blocks and non-full blocks 3d. it looks really good in my opinion.
for insporation id probably go to pintrest. You can go to the settings and remove the ai. its deep into the settings though, i couldn't find it. and i normally just create new worlds and explore new biomes i dont usally build in and build whatever comes to mind. thats probably not good advice though.

this modpack has everything that you need for performance boosting.
For mods and shaders I would reccomend Getting Modrinth. My personal favorate shader is Solas https://modrinth.com/shader/solas-shader.
There are many Modloaders out there, but I reccomend Fabric for the wonderfull preformance mods. https://modrinth.com/mod/sodium.
Modding takes some getting used to, so if you need help just reach out!

As I tend to play near vanilla, I'll leave the first part to others (beyond mentioning that having some form of performance enhancer e.g. Optifine, Sodium, or the like)
One source for maps with 'megabases' could be https://hermitcraft.com/ which has the maps from the various seasons available for download [free]. Note that these will be for a number of different numerical veriosn of the game, but appear to be available for br/mcw as well as java.
